These four sold today. The square one is a medium-format film negative shot of Finsbury Circus, City of London, June '08. The rest are shot with the Canon 350 DSLR, 24-105 mm lens. The biplanes were part of an air-show at Clacton, Essex last August, the boat is beached in St Osyth, near Clacton, last August, and the weird clouds are at 1/3100 second from a high-speed train zooming in the Midlands last July. They were all sold as surface-mounted images.
My favourite photos are of Spitalfields, the 'underbelly', Finsbury Circus, the boat, and the beautiful clouds over the landscape! Great stuff, why don't you advertise yourself on YourLocalLondon.com/finsburypark as a local photographer? I'm sure you'll get some commissions...
I finished my BTEC Photography at City of Westminster College. I still work as a teacher, and I am in the London Photographers’ branch of the NUJ [ http://londonphotographers.org/ ]. I hope to do more journalism, but it’s all a matter of making the time to get out there and snap the action.
I LOVE shooting film, and use a couple of Pentax 35 mm with a range of lenses, as well as a Bronica medium-format. Usually I’m using a Canon 5D, or my old 350 which fits all the lenses. The processing is easier for digital, but often far less magical than seeing the print emerge from the wet bath.
I have long-term projects, including shooting American Football in London and a few occasional commissions. I'm also busy in the Journalists' union, eg the London Photographers' Branch.
I keep in touch with the guys and gals I went to college with. Many of them seem to be on the ‘weddings’ side of things to keep the bills paid, but a few are ‘artists’ who keep busy with private commissions, studio work, and so on.
